(I would like to thank all that attended West Coast Nationals 2013 this weekend. The clubs that show us support are greatly appreciated. But it is with a heavy heart Sunset has decided to say good-bye for now to West Coast Nationals. The reasons are that we want to bring you the best event on the planet but with the park being split into two sections because of the Pirates Den area the event does not have the same vibe. Can’t cruise the main strip like you could before.

The other reasons are that some do not understand that a quite hour means just that. The park has always had one from the times of Endless and Splash but some insist on pressing the point and want to tell me how **** I’m for enforcing the rule. I guess they think I own this County Park but I don’t. Next it is not my rule it is the owner of the park does not want you dragging it is their park not mine so I have to enforce what they are asking. So there again I’m called a ****ing piece of **** because I have to keep the County happy. Next the park speed limit is 10 MPH then I get **** for asking you to park when you are doing 50 plus then I’m an ******* again.

Then this comment made me realize that with all the other things this is the time to let it go. Someone said to me Bob Hase you are to old to be in my scene you would help our community if your old ass would get out. My knee jerk reaction is that this is not their scene this is all of us. This person has been in the Lifestyle for maybe 5 years they don’t even understand what old school guys like myself and thousands of others have brought to what we call being a Mini Trucker. To the person that said this to me go **** yourself I’m not going anywhere matter of fact why don’t you leave because you just don’t get it. I hate when these people think they are the scene and they have done nothing to help it just hurt it.

Sunset Worldwide works very hard to bring you this event as always we have brought you benchmark events like Resolutions and West Coast which until a few years ago no one could get La Paz County Park for a run. But the park superintendent said Bob you are about the only club I would rent the park to because you and Sunset understand what our rules are and you pay your bills.

It is a very sad day for not only Sunset but also the people that support us in our events. Yes we try things like move it out of the summer oven to spring and clubs that complained that it was to hot in September they still did not support it. We tried moving the awards to Saturday night I feel from the feedback that was a good move. I’m not going to quite trying to bring you events I’m working on other things right now but West Coast, as we know it is over. This year marked the 14th edition of the event we did the first 8 years at a few parks we were lucky to have been at La Paz for 6 of those years. Again to all involved with sponsoring the event and supporting the event thank you.

To the Members of Sunset lets start a new chapter in events the Sunset name will always be attached to the two great events of Min Truckin history Resolutions and West Coast. Nationals and there is no one that can ever change that. Thanks again to all of the Sunset Family Love you all. I will see you around the water cooler.)

show was o.k. but really kind of boring. 2009 and 2010 were way more fun. people cruised all night long.

the park is so strict. people would ride low and when the uneven road caused the frame to touch they'd get yelled at.

i'm glad the next event sunset starts will be somewhere else. hopefully a place that will understand these trucks will touch the ground.

i can't understand how the park and ranger/sheriffs are o.k. with 150 d.u.i.'s driving around, but the second someone scrapes an exhaust pipe they get yelled at. makes no sense.

I was a little disappointed with half the park being closed off for those rv's next to the pirate den. Being back in the trees away from the water sucked but I made do. Had some fun swimming against the current and playing cornhole toss with some of the guys from XL. All in all, fun for me seeing as I haven't been to a run in about 6 years.
