Hello all. My first car was a green 1975 RN23 that my dad bought for $1600 in 1991. He drove it four years before giving it to me. I beat it up for another year before selling it for $800. I moved on to S10's but always regretting selling my 75. I've been prowling craigslist for years, looking for a well maintained RN23 to tinker with and stumbled across this gem in North Carolina. I flew out and purchased this 77 model with 123k original miles and the original paint. I drove it 1000 miles back to Houston without a single problem. Needless to say, I can't stop smiling. I'm told the wheels are from an 84. The seller provided the original wheels and hubcaps which I'm having restored.
WOW!!! What a beauty! Great find and welcome to the forum. Any plans for her other than restoring the wheels?
I'm not sure yet. I'd like to keep it as original as possible. Maybe some wheels and tires. Overall, I like it just the way it is.
Congratulations !! That is one fine Yota. I think that the wheels look great on it. I wouldn't do anything to it but drive it carefully. 22R88
she's a beauty! love that clean, stock look. you can for sure tell they took good care of it. you're a lucky man! welcome to the site
Welcome! Your truck is a beauty! I'm glad you are planning on maybe wheels & tires and keeping the rest stock. High-5 on finding this truck! Rick
Thanks, everyone! I'm super excited to have found this truck I just got the it registered(in Texas) during my lunch break. It does need new ball joints and maybe shocks which I'll get working on in the next week or so. I have a ton of questions, but I'm going to do some reading, first. I know how these forums can get cluttered with repeated questions. Again, thanks for the positive comments.
Not really. I like this truck just the way it is. I have a question for everyone regarding restoring the wheels. Unfortunately, one of the previous owners rattle canned the wheels silver and the center caps white. I've been looking through photos here and other places online and I notice some of the trucks with center caps have silver wheels and some others have a darker gray or matte black. Also, the center caps always appear to be chrome or silver. Does anyone know the details on paint colors, etc.?
There was a post awhile back about color options and trim colors but I think it was for 84-87 not sure worth the search
