steering locked up turning

    after i left work this morning in the parking lot i went to turn the wheel and had it all the way turned to the right at sharp as i could and it completely locked up into place, i had to stop and go in reverse and wiggle it lol. its dropped in the front tb crank and flipped lower bjs. has anyone experience this?:doah:

    Do u have power steering? If so check the fluid level...that happened to me from time to time...if ur too dropped u can even pop out ur tie rod it happend to me an couldn't steer for ****...

    your avatar states you have an 84, if you dont have power steering ( or even if you do ) your steering box could be worn and going out. i know mine is a little loose but ive heard of them locking up too leaving you s.o.l. in some cases

    X2 on the locked up box also check for binding in your steering linkage .
    That could turn into a O s#!t moment on the street

    Welk this happened to me. Its the flipped bjs. It makes ur steerinf bump stop which is a bolt. Flipping the bjs makes it so ur bump stop doesnt line up like it should and has the ability to catch ur hub and hold it.. i removed my bumpstopsbfor this reason

    no it doesnt have power steering. i will have the front components checked by a shop.

    Mine doesnt have power steering either. Im telling ya find ur bump stop bolt pop the white plastic cap off of it (if its still there) take the bolt out. It will increase ur steering angle and ull know when to stop turning when it rubs. I know I get two and a half cranks out of my steering wheel without rubbing. I mentally made that my max
