My truck needs gas poured into the carb to start.I have a new filter and replaced accl pump diaphragm.Sometimes it runs smooth sometimes rough. After warming up it usually starts easier. When I pump the gas pedal it sometimes starts and sometimes not and has started missing.Any ideas?

I had a lot of fuel problems with my stock carb too, new fuel pump, filter, adjusted, finally I had enough and just bought a brand new weber 32/36, little pricey around $250 but well worth it problem fixed, 1 vaccum line and 1 fuel line, never had a problem since, that was over 3 years ago, runs like a champ. I know this is the same ol'e get a weber speech but it does fix the problem. I think the website is www.redline.com ?

Hope you get it fixed soon, I know how frustrating it is.
    Have a good day.

I agree about replacing your factory carb with a Weber 32/36. I've had my Weber for almost 20 years with no problems. I suggest you highly consider it.

BTW, tell us little bit about yourself & your truck.

I use my truck locally only,no long trips.I looked at a schematic and what it calls the horn has a bolt/gasket/union/gasket will cause the truck to sputter when I tap on it.The mechanical pump is pulsing gas and I can keep it running once it's started.I will probably get the new carb. but I don't want this to be an unsolved mystery.I guess I am just too curious to let it go,even when I get the new carb.
