Did you put those 16x10s on? I'd love to see some pics. I'm trying to figure out size and offsets now.

what size tires do you run?

Glad you got back to it. I was flipping through the build and noticed it was a few year old. Then I hit the last few pages and got excited again.

my 82 is setup just like yours suspension wise and it is one of the best handling/drifting trucks ive experienced[owned s10s nissan/datsuns mazdas] and they all saw some form of sideways action! its no sports car like my 300zx turbo but it sure puts a look of aww on many faces when they see it hung out at 60 on a off ramp

    Rice,
Thats good to hear. I do plan on running it hard with the V8. I did run it hard on the straights with the 22rte but the turns were scary with two blown rear shocks and one blown front passenger side shock (driverside shock was missing:rolleyes:). Everything will be top notch with it this time.

    74 Hilux,
More to come on the project soon. Picture taken today.

I will admit that I got distracted by this purchase 2 months ago.

It's a 93 na with a spun bearing. The plan was to tuck it away in the garage and buy a 3sgte to swap in the spring. Then I found out guys were dropping camry V6's in them. So I found a nice well maintained V6 in the junkyard and cleaned/detailed it for my swap.

With the motor finished for the MR2, I will refocus on the truck. Will pull the motor out of the truck to get the same treatment the V6 got.

Thanks guys. The MR2 is a distraction. Even though I have just under $900 invested in the entire MR2 project, I spent money that I could have used on the truck. I need the remaining parts for the 5 speed/1uz conversion, windshield, exhaust and suspension. I'm on it now.

These motors are fun but not enough power to get into any really bad trouble. I picked the V8 and V6 for reliabilty, decent power and great sound.
Now if I go thru my paln of dropping a 1jz VVti into my 81 corolla wagon, that's new level of ignorance.

Well, I spent sunday afternoon trying to lift the cab off the frame so that I would have better access to the floor for some rust repair. I thought that after removing the doors that it would be easily man handled. Hell no, this thing is heavy as hell. I used 4 cinderblocks and jackstands to raise the cab high enough to roll the frame from under it. While trying to secure the rear driverside corner on the jackstand the passenger side fell back on the frame. Looks like a pinch seam on the cab landed right on the wire harness that runs on top of the frame. May have damaged the harness. I just walked away and took a much needed shower. I try again today.

^^ Thanks. Havent chosen tires yet. I want to run 225/50 front and 245/50 rear. I hear that performance tires in 16" are getting harder to come by. I have seen some trucks on this site running mustang cobra reps and I like the look. I may wind up running them since they are cheap. I bought a set of 18x9/18x10 for my cressida for $513 shipped.
