so i got my cummins like 8 months ago for my dually. it big. my truck was stock still and i was on bumps.
trust me im gunna make it work lmao i want to bad.. even with the radiator in the bed and a mooshed in firewall still think thats not enough ? also its not going in a lowered truck, this one would be getting a solid axle lift
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHVwvWQPM0c Ive always said id kill someone, in front of their own momma for a Grand National... i wonder what a swap into our truck would take
Give it a shot. I'm always for new swaps and stuff. The frame it's self isn't going to be long enough though. The motor is longer than a v8 and thats even a tight fit. Hell even my 2rz is tight in my 80. It's going to be an interesting job to say the least.
If you stretch out the front you can get it to fit. I posted the build link to tht 4runner in a thread once
Engine height is a big concern too... Unless you dont care about it sticking out the hood and not bagging it The Isuzu 3.9 Diesel is fun too, Check out this guys other videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJ88ViL7h6A
It would be very easy, They make adapters for those older 3.8s. Im in the middle of my 99' 3800 Series II swap, My build thread should be getting fun here soon
i agree with everyone, it would be a extremely tight fit cummins are not small motors at all but they do haul ass! my buddy had a 94 with a 6bt and it would take down mustang gt's all day, The 4bt would be an easier fit and you may actually be able to drive it without spinning all the way to 5th If you want to do it dont let anyone stop you, Just make a big ass cowl hood and have it sit a foot above the core support.....you know what F*** it just run no hood! hahaha
Truck ~2500#, 6Bt ~750#. Most people advise against this swap in a 4k pound wrangler let alone a mini truck. A 4bt or even the lesser known 3Bt are more viable options. EDIT: Being a 4wd would make it somewhat easier.
Ok good to hear you went a different route. I love the cummins motors but even with the 4bt you would have to move the firewall back. Also when people swap the 4bt into their Rangers or Jeeps they start twisting the frames from the torque. Some guys on my old Ranger forums were having to completely box their frames to keep this from happening. Now thing of what the 6bt would do. Regardless if you had a 2wd or 4wd.
