Hello there, It's great to know there are people out there who like these trucks too. I just bought a 1978 Truck and started working on it already and would really appreciate the help. It looks like if going to be a long road ahead and even though my truck was in fair condition when i got it I can see the potential to make look and drive better. Hope to see you guys along the way. Thanks in advance, Bayunco, Orange County, CA
This is the excate same year and body style that that got me into Toyotas, truck looks great. Here's a little something to help get you even more motivated, I have used this pic before but its just so clean! Hope you enjoy it, welcome to the site and good luck.
Here's a rear shot of that same truck. Lot's of great people here, if you are planning on body dropping your truck, you might want to look up Bernie, his screen name here is Burza, he has a 73 thats body dropped (your body style), he's a really cool and knowlegable guy, I'm sure he as well as others here would be happy to answer any questions, me as well, as much as I can, I didn't do my trucks suspension I had my truck done, one thing I can tell you that I believe 110% is when you are ready to start into your truck: 1. "Get your suspension and body drop done first thing"!!! If these are done right the first time, it will save a-lot of headaches and heartaches down the long road ahead. I know this from personal experience with a 2001 Tacoma I had that got trashed because the people I trusted did not have any clue what they were doing and I did not do my research enough and it cost me more $ to get it fixed than I want to remember, makes me sick to my stomach to think about it actually. Sold it shortly after it got fixed and bought the older Toyota truck I should have got in the first place I did my researach with my current truck, got the job done right the first time and I can move ahead to other mods with no worries. I hope to have a feature in Mini Truckin one day.
This is awesome guys, Can't tell you how happy I am to have found all of you. I'm already in the process of painting my baby. Don't know if I did it right, but I ordered some KYB shocks because I thougt i was driving a little rough. ( I hope I don't have to buy new one when I'm ready for the body drop.) I'm planning on redoing the interior as well and I'm also thinking about fabricating a custom aluminum tonneau bed cover. This process is going to take a little time but I hope I can do it right and as affordable as possible. Thanks Again for all your support., Bayunco from the OC
