hi im new here but i have a question. i just put in my belltech nitro drop shocks on my 90 pickup but i put the shock body on the bottom so it looks upside down (i just wanted it in) ran it a couple days and feels okay but will it seriously ruin my shocks if they are this way? thanks guys for any help.
I wouldnt think its bad but if I were you I would rather spend more time redoing it than spending money again for some new ones
thanks yeah im gonna switch it on my day off. but i was wondering since monotube shocks can be mounted either way, would twin tube shocks be real damaged if other way around too? nitro drops are twin tube if not mistaken. sorry just curious.
It all depends on the shock specifically. Some can be mounted upside down, some can't. If they are mounted upside down and they shouldn't be, it won't damage the valving, it just won't work properly. Ie, damping and rebound values would be reversed....
I would think twin tube shocks being mounted upside down would allow road debree to build up in the larger tube and after a while af going in and out it would eat away at the seal. Not worth the trouble if you ask me.
