I found a what it looks like an electric choke thermostat for a 80 yota corolla or celica ...but there's one issue I don't know how to wire it I think or got only one cable...does any have any idea how to install it to an 80 yota pickup ...some of the older corollas or celicas had the 20r just like pickups...help please

hi, I looked quick in my books but they are for early 1970 cars, There is usually one wire to supply power to the auto choke to make heat internal the spring, and make it move. But there may be sensors involved to trigger the electricity on and off .

In a simple system I assume the wire goes to a source that switches on with the ignition key when turned on. It should get warm and in turn the spring should move ,, similar to ones that use exhaust gas to heat the spring.

Does that mean that it won't fit on my 80 yota ...and if it does can I just get any power from the fuse box, one that will turn on with the key...

    Choke

I'm not sure I will be getting a 1980 Celica with a 20r in a week or two, i will know then. If some one has a wire diagram it should show where the electric choke get its' power from and if a sensor is involved.
