4speed or 5 ? 280 good performance better gas millage 292 better performance poor gas milage. 283 also a good choice.
I'm using a 290 crower stage 2 also ran lc engineering stage 3. Are you going to swap your valve springs out as well?
i wanna do a cam, duel valve springs, and maybe a port and polish. i installed the duals, lotsssss more power, just theres a slight bog but when it clears up, she screams!
needs moar accel pump no really bigger jets, or fatter mixture will help that stumble. Also up your timing a bit.
it kinda like a too much fuel on bottom end. like it bogs stuters from 900rpm to 2800 then after 2800 shes clear and she screaming.
iknow these carbs came off a bored out 4x4 4runner. so my real question is whats more accel pumps? the diapram under the carbs?
Bro mine were doing the same thing but only when I stomp it hard. Like if I'm lining up to race I have to hold it at like 1200 rpm then launch but if I hold it any lower it takes a second to pick up after it bogs. I am going to try a better fuel pump. I am currently running a Napa 3-7 psi little square one but I have a better Holly pump I'm going to slap in. Also I will try different timing settings.
Advance the timming abit a little tweaking here and there might clear it up abit I have a little bog I adjust my fuel pressure some it helped but still there
Plenty cams readily available just pick one with the RPM range your building for... Keep in mind these motors weren't designed to be a 8000 rpm screamer (although it is possible but, expensive). Keep it simple and you'll be happy with the results. For reference, I'm still running a 280 comp and I'm satisfied how it performs yet there is still some tweaking left to do...
