Started working on the stout again. I sold the first frame I built for it and started another one. I changed my mind on a couple of things and needed to change around a few dimensioins. Here are some pics of the progress.
I love stouts! This will be a sick truck when its finished. What size rims and tires are you going to use? Keep up the great work!
I set the suspension up to lay out on 20"s. All of the tubing, suspension, fuel cell, air tanks, etc. are designed to fit under the stock bedfloor (except for the notch, wheels, and driveline of course). As far as plans for the build, I am building as I go. I have a few mods that are for sure. I am going to lengthen the bedsides to match the cab and shave the gas doors, the seams on the bedsides, and reshape the bed rails to match the lines of the cab. The front suspension will be an 89 2wd front clip modified to meet my needs with tubular control arms.
She got put on hold for a little bit. Had to link and bag an ice cream truck for a local guy and put a new compressor on a scion. Started to build my tubular arms today. Here are a couple of pics of the progress on those. Notching the tubing on the mill.... Parts notched waiting to be welded.....
I have all of the arm parts notched and sanded. Just need to weld them up. If everything goes well I will be starting on the front clip this weekend. The upper arms Both the uppers and lowers
Got my arms welded up today. I started on the front clip and hope to have the bag mounts, arms, and steering linkage on this weekend. assembled just welded
Yes they are cando arms. I do all the machining and fabrication and steve does the tig welding and shipping.
Imessed around with the front clip a little bit. I shaved some holes, cut off the motor mounts, and welded in the lower x shafts. I also started cutting up the shock towers to make room for the bags.
