Agree^^^ You can go all the way down to the ground if you want and still be static dropped. It just a matter of what you are capable of doing and have the supplies to do the job!!

You can go however low you want. Just remember you cannot go over speed bumps, or hit potholes I have a deep c-notch and am static and here is my clearance:

Super low static can be fun. My old hardbody was slammed and I drove it back and forth to Pa for school. My Silverado is stupid low static now, and its not so fun, Long wheel base and heavier truck means me stuck and spark shows on the daily, till I get my tranny x member raised. It really depends on where you live and how the roads are... Virgnia, Not much much when this is your daily fullsize :)

Q1: A major issue would be bottoming out, and how far low do you have to be before you run into any issues with the drive shaft (angle, or rubbing).

Q2: No. I'm taking it to a mechanic for anything like that.

Q3: I was thinking of possibly doing betech spindles up front & loosen the torsins. For the rear I was looking at beltech leafs, and possibly a 3 or 4 inch block? (not sure if they will work though).

5" is about the limit without much issues. Most would be the rear on the single cabbs, they have driveshaft clearance issues with the mid chassis crossmember In between cab and be and after that there's a cross member right above third member.

I have a 87 single cab long bed

so a 5/5 drop should be able to get without any real major issues?

On my singlecab long bed it can go all the way till the axle hit frame cause its double drive shaft so theres a u-joint right under the mid cross member, unlike the single cab short bed with their one drive shaft from the trans to the axle.

Not trying to thread jack here, this might help yuu out too. So does anyone know if the long beds and short bed leaf springs are the same length??

On my 85 I had 3" blocks, pulled middle leaf, flipped lower leaf, took out the bump stops and never had any issues at all unless we got in the back and started jumping *I was around 220 pounds at the time and my friend was a good 160*. On my 88 I'm going 3" blocks, pulled middle leaf, take out bump stops and call it a day most likely. If I decide I want it lower then I will just pull flip the bottom leaf.

BTW: I rode around like that for 2 years in my 85 and never had any troubles if that helps you out... Also just cranked the torsions to level the truck and still had room to go.
