The wire connecting to the oil pressure switch on my 93 22RE is missing - I cant find it anywhere! which part of the wiring loom does it come from?, searching around for it is driving me batty. I know that it still exists as the oil pressure light sometimes comes on - I guess it is touching against the engine/chassis somewhere! Someone please help me locate this!!
Found it!!!!! the wire was hiding behind the starter motor, the end was bare so was touching against either the block or the starter motor and causing the oil light to come on once in a while. Now got to find a connector to re connect it back to the oil pressure switch.
Its this type pressure switch :- 93 1993 Toyota Pickup Oil Pressure Sender - Body Electrical - Beck Arnley, FAE, Futaba, NTC, Sankei Switches, Standard Motor Products - PartsGeek connector has a grey plastic body (the 1992 and earlier had a simpler type of connector)
sorry but I know I dont have that one, my truck came with the simpler type that fits on a flat prong.
I noticed that the connector is still attached to the oil pressure switch, I can solder a wire to this and connect back to the bare wire with a crimp connector.
My wire was broken off at the sensor since I got my truck 5 years ago, Never fixed it and motor is sold now... lol
just go to the store and get an oil pressure gauge instead of a light so you really know where its at at all times.
That sounds like a plan 1Sunpro/2 in. 0 to 100 PSI black face black bezel mechanical oil pressure gauge (CP7982) | Oil Pressure Gauge | AutoZone.com
I ended up crimping a 1/4" female blade connector to the wire and closed the connector in a little with pliers and it pushed into the oil pressure switch made contact with the pin - works fine!
