What did you end up doing with the front fender liners? Removed and tossed them? If you took them out....did you bend the pinch weld away from the tire?

Curious to what you guys have done!!!

I plasma cut mine out and plan on modifying some trailer fenders, raised upof course. I massaged that pinch weld up as flat as I could. Im bagged but ride way low. Seemed to cure the rubbing when I flattened that pinch.

I used trailer fenders and basically just welded them in as high as they would go. And then I tubbed the firewall as well. I'm bagged on 20's.

My front wells are completly cut out, i havnt touched the weld or tubbed the front yet but Im only on 17's so I still got room around everything as of now. Starting my SFBD here in a few months thats when I will tub and shave the firewall and add wheel tubs

are you ex cab or single?

My buddy is running 15's on his single cab....no bumpstops. Tires never rubs at 4"...idk if the single cabs have more wheel well space.

Single cab....running 17x8 wheel with 215/50 tire. I was rubbing on the lower part of the wheel well....where the airbox sits....and where the battery sits. I had to raise it back up an 1.5in...all good for now.

This is where we ended up welding in,lower than I had set, because when the truck was set as low as could go with torsion bars removed, setting on the cross bar. Should have left it as high as I had it,but the clutch master is in the way,you can see the step we put in for it!

At my ride height of 4 1/2'' & running 225x40x18's, the tires hit if I hit a large bump. Not real bad ,but I'd would rather not this happening!
Could go to a lower profile tire like 35 or 30's ,but than rim damage can occur!

I removed my fender liners and beat the welds with a hammer.

I assume it don't rain much where you live :p.

I'd have all my fenders chopped open, but...it rains everyday over here :(

Water is not a problem,do not have water splash inner liners so is the only open areas.
The engine bay gets washed when the truck is washed ,no problems with water!!
And yes we have rain in the north Bay Area, not much this year so far!
I don't drive my truck in the rain much only because the way others drive in it,it is a show truck, driven a few times a week & to as many shows as I can do!!
