hey folks, my names rob, im from the united kingdom, i got a toyota hilux 2wd that came with a 1.8 petrol engine. im new to the toyota pickups but not cars in general, im a self employed mechanic, i love the look of these trucks, so i searched high and low to get one. most of the 2wd toyotas here in the U.K end up in africa as all seemed to be up for export. before the hilux, i owned several toyota supra mk3's. i got rather bored with the look of those but loved playing with the engines. so naturally the plan was to pull out the rather puny 1.8 petrol from my truck and replace it wiith a 3.0 turbo, im about half way through the conversion, but shouldnt be too long before shes a runner, heres some pics: i ambitions for the truck are to four link the rear and also add an LSD, im gonna lower it several inches aswell, im hoping to gain some knowlege from you guys, as i had alook round the forum and there are some seriously awesome rides about,
that looks kool as hell! my only question is where are u going to put the radiator? if you like, start a build thread and keep us post on what all is done to it. that will deffently be a screamer once u get it fully running!
Welcome, nice build! Cool bed and corner lights! Is that running light on the fender under the emblem factory? Cheers!
Looks like a good swap. His radiator should fit there, although he may recess it forward since the firewall looks stock. Wish pusher electric fans, they usually can fit into a pickup engine bay on a stock firewall. The light under the fender is a marker, and the corner light has 2 bulbs. One blinks, one is a running light.
