...this Craigslist ad in the San Francisco area barely lasted 24-hrs! I would have loved to snatch this one up. Just a tad too late in calling...

"1983 Toyota Pickup $500 - The truck runs good has about 171,000 miles on it but it wont pass smog. Smog was due back in Feb of this year. I have paid all the fees for the reg all the DMV needs to see is the smog cirtificate. I dont have the time or money to put into it passing so I just want to get rid of it. The rear right tire is flat but I will fix that before it is bought. Any questions call Mike"

Tell me about it! :) There's my back window, my side mirrors, my dashboard (I didn't include the interior photo but it looked crack-free), and who knows what else. I'd have love to take that motor and tear it down for a DIY project re-build/build-up.

To think, that guy was only 40-minutes away...

About two weeks ago there was a 70's Hi-Lux going for $200! Missed that one, too. And when I say "missed" we're talking an hour tops!

Oh well. It's all good. There will be others. If they keep going for that much with just mechanical nic-nacs to fine tune, but straight and solid, I'll keep buying what I can and bring'em all back to life.

:) THE THRILL OF THE HUNT.
