Well, i threw 3" blocks on my '85 and turned the torsions 'til the front is sitting on the bump stops ... Did'nt have to remove or add anything to the front ... Very simple ... Depending on how low you want to go on the front, you may or may not wanna shave the bump stops down a little ... As soon as i can find the spare time, i plan on putting it up on the rack and shaving them down about 3/4" and tighten the torsions that much more ... I hope that helps you ...

I really think we need to get this site organized with a laundry list of "HOW TO'S"

Sorry not trying to be a jerk but this has been discussed SO MANY TIME...The search button can be your very best friend for navigating around the site and looking up answers to your questions.

However...94 Toyota depends on how far you want to go. You can flip the ball joints and crank the torsions a little bit 3 or so turns and this will get you a solid 2"..
You can get drop spindles to replace your stock ones that will give a solid 2 or so" and will keep the front suspension ride quality the same.
You can go crazy and do drop spindles, flip BJ, crank torsions and get a nice 3.5" or so

I think if you got 3's out back just spend the $$$ on the drop spindles and you'll be clean all around and it will look VERY good.

    WELCOME TO TM.

The torsion is a simple job, crank n turn.

Again if your planning on going more than 3" your gonna have to remove the bumpstop & put on some aftermarket ones & change the stock shocks out with something shorter.
Or your ride will go to hell.

yeah and it probably rides like @$$. you suspension needs give. thats what shocks and springs are for. your truck will eventually fall apart with all the extra abuse from not having any give. trust me, i've seen it.

I have picture of the drop that I have on my truck. You can loosen the torsion bars without the need for anything else but to keep you alignment within specs you need the DJM LCAs but if you don't care about your alignment or you suspension components don't worry about it. Crank those babies down! :looney:  JK, don't do that.

Depends on what you are using. If you are going all torsion and a flip, you should go with drop shocks if you have the drop spindle, LCAs, flip and torsion then its ok with the stock shock

What do you mean? Shock are there to keep your wheels to the road after hitting bumps. springs are there to absorb the upward movment of the wheel, shock are there to return them to the ground. Its as simple as that.

they both work in combination of each other. you need both in order to have a safe vehicle. i've driven bagged vehicles that didn't have shocks. very bad idea. had a 92 GMC Jimmy that was bagged. i was young and dumb and didn't know any better. you can do it if you want. but for your safety and the safety of others, i wouldn't. to me its a safety issue.

I'm all torsion, got about 3" with that. When i did alignment they had to put a shim on the passengers side to get it right. I don't rub at all running 16s wrapped with 55series.

Still rides good, with the 69 camaro shocks n all.
