alright well my truck is getting a v8 with a 6 speed soon. Anyone intrested in anything ? I dont have prices at the moment but shoot me an offer. weber side drafts 40s with cannon intake and all linkage. I will even include the throtle cable. 22r- parts or whole, Ive got 2 of em. high performance clutch celica w58 5 speed and anything else under the hood you need that I wont.. let me know what you need. thanks
Thanks tony, hows your coming along ? did you ditch your swap idea ? and 80yota, its for a 22r, will fit a 20r but obviously have different shaped ports. I dont know what they are going for used but I was thinking around 600, the carbs on ebay are 350 and up each and the manifold is almost 400, they also have a whole set for 1300 they are in good shape, the truck starts every time, and they run hard.
Yup, sold the 2JZ and kept the trans for my wifeys car... Ended up building a lazer hybrid and i'm happy with it so far. Was the cheaper route for me...
Im pretty sure it is a zoom clutch, its the one I bought when my truck was boosted. I dont think I have over 1,500 miles on it. Ill look for a picture in a little when i get back home but it is purple if that helps. I doubt I have any egr stuff other than block off plates.
here ya go. first 2 are of them in the truck that I bought with them, third is in my truck. all the same carbs though.
So they are complete? Like ready to bolt on and go? Is it true they need to be tuned very often? And how hard to tune? I've never played with side drafts. But I want to do something other than the stock carb and intake.
honestly im no pro, nor am I close to being a pro, I never had to adjust anything, other than synchronize them when i switched them from the previous motor to mine. but these are ready to bolt on and go. I can take a video, state the date, and post it. I really do not want to sell them, but I dont need them and Id rather let someone else use them instead of gunk up in my shed... not to mention I need money for my v8 swap. BTW. this was the first time I ever messed with a side draft also, and it was easy enough for me to get it right. on the other hand, when I bought my weber down draft, I could never get the truck to idle, so I gave up and got these.
I had great luck with my down draft Weber, and have another one, so that's what I was thinking of running. But I always thought side drafts where cool, I just worried I would always be messing with them. How is mileage with them, it always seemed to me like so much Carb for a small motor? Maybe I should just do some research. The other thing is I can run the smog legal Weber kit and not worry about it..
I dont really know any of the answers your looking for, I just know that I love them and my truck hauls butt with them and sounds mean doing it. I dont know about the mileage because my odometer broke.
Okay, I will do some research then and think about it. I love the look, but really want to keep the truck reliable, especially for when my wife drives it. I know she won't look at an AFM, or know if something is wrong.
side drafts are just like you down draft weber. Set it and forget it. Super reliable, they are just a better design cause the intake flow doesnt have a 90 degree bend. Thats why its such a large carb for such a small motor. They will hurt your mileage cause more fuel/more power less mpg. Its also dependant on how you drive it. Lead foot = v8 gas mileage. I'd pick these up but I really dont need em for my daily and my stout wont be running a 22r
