can't find the stabilizer that hooks to center link

    i can't find the shock that hooks onto the center link. i tried (orielly, advanceauto, autozone, and some local auto part places and everyone gives me the wrong one. i have a 2wd 92 toyota pick up shortbed,reg. cab. 2.4l 22re. the only thing am thinking is the toyota dealer but i know its going to de expensive because the part has a balljoint on one side and the other side is gust threaded. help please:cry:

    no no, you can get aftermarket, when you walked in and ask, did you ask for the "shock that bolts up to the centre link"?? its call a steering stabalizer try that, up here in canada, we have some stupid parts guys that have no idea what they are doing!

    am in houston tx, and i took the part with me. its a steering damper found it on toyota parts it runs for $143. the ones on advance, autozone, orielly are only for 4wd. they have one that looks just like mine were it bolts to the front part of the frame BUT ON THE OTHER END IS MISSING THE BALL JOINT. it has a hole and it come with one bolt and nuts. the oem part # is 45700-35031 and i can't find any aftermarket part that replaces it!!!!!!!

    they actually gave you the correct part from what it sounds like. thats gonna be the aftermarket version of what you need. only toyota OEM will have that B/J end on it.

    trust me, i looked and looked and crossed refferenced all the numbers. i work at a auto zone here in San Diego.

    mine blew out a month ago...... i actually found a good OEM one at the salvage yard but i can almost garantee its about done.... i also picked up an aftermarket one like the one you described and feels smoother and stronger than the oem.

    i would just pick up the one they gave you and slap it on with a good fitting metric bolt.

    i went and bought one from salvage yard for 20, new at dealer $134. am just happy am done with it!!! :)

    Sorry old thread but falls under my question

    Dont mean to do a thread steal, but can the aftermarket steering damper/stabilizer (threaded end and the other eye end) replace the original steering damper?

    i need to change mine, but was wondering if that aftermarket part would work?
