body swap... ca legal????

    But if you read tht section you posted it states on the frame or unitized frame and body. Which to me seems really vague an IMO means the frame?

    Doesn't seem to vague to me. For a car with a frame, the VIN belongs to the frame. For a unibody car (unitized frame and body) the VIN belongs to the unibody.

    I do believe that most of these codes are vague though. They almost have to be to apply to all the different cars out there. That unfortunately leaves the discretion to the officer or inspector.
