so the origional oil pan i got with my toy was crushed a bit by the previous owner (looks like they aired out on top of a small stump or large rock:doah:) so i'm not planning on using it (even though it would probly work just fine?) the oil pan i got with my new (to me-only 89,000 on it:waytogo:) 22re is an off road pan which makes it deeper than stock for wheeling apps, so using that on my frame layer (as i do not plan on dragging my truck-i dare you to say i'm not a mini trucker though:cool:) is for sure out of the question....... i guess that brings me to the question before i fall asleep typing this and you fall asleep reading it.....

does anyone know where i can find a shallow mount oil pan for my 22re? is there such a thing? if not, why wouldn't there be????

ok i guess that was 3 questions. now for bed.:looney::verdict_in:

Seth from twisted minis used to shorten them I believe. If you cut the bottom sump off an weld a piece of plate to it an make a new bung and I think modify the pickup it holds the same amount of oil and won't hit the ground

does a regular oil pan fit before you go through all the trouble of moding one? maybe use the crushed one as a kinda test fit and check to see if a stock one would work, then hit up a yard and take one.

if not most fab shops could easily modify the sump and pan to hold the same or more oil and be shorter.

sounds like more work than i really have time for... i need to get this thing on the road.

the crushed one fits, but its shorter by way of the previous owner not knowing much of anything it seems. i also didnt wanna go and buy a standard pan just to find it didnt fit. as for going the route of fab shops??? i'm sure theres a few around the portland area as its a good sized city, but its getting to them and looking them up, while not being overcharged.

Isnt the bolt on front cross member the lowest thing at the front? its the only thing that seems to have grounded on the front of my 2WD truck, are you sure that the previous owner had "modified" the sump to make it easier to clear the anti roll bar when removing/refitting it.

not sure what your asking there???

the original oil pan was set on top of something (a stump, brick, who knows?) then they let the air out of the bags and it crunched the pan... yeah the front cross is the lowest point... the new motor i have was out of a 4wd that was wheeled so its a much deeper oil pan, making it sit lower than the crossmember.

i think thats what you were getting at anyway???

my factory 2wd oil pan doesn't sit past the front cross member i believe....

if i'm correct, the 2wd and 4wd should be the same.

    rockauto.com should have some

i have a mint condition 2wd oil pan off my buddies 1991 pickup 2wd.. also, if you need a good oil pickup (if urs is damaged) i have that too.

it is 2wd and is shallower than 4wd, and oil pickup is different do to it being so much shorter.

let me know if ya want it. i am in san diego willig to ship.

new to this site as far as posting. but been on yota forums for a while. just thought i could help instead of trolling. lol
