hello all, it's been a while since i've been on here since i started my 350 small block 2wd track truck project, but now it's just down to the u-joint conversion and the rear end that still needs completed... so my question is there anyone that makes an LSD/Posi for the factory rear end in a 90 standard cab toyota 2wd? i don't want to weld the rear diff or anything like that, i want to retain the factory rear end until the 350 gets fully built, then maybe a ford 9" if the factory rear end doesn't hold up. from what everyone has told me the factory toyota rear ends are virtually bullet proof, and if it's anything like their engines i believe it. thanks Jessie
did the toyota 4 runner and/or 4wd truck rear ends have a factory lsd in them because my 91 4Runner has a way beefy rear end compared to my 2wd truck
Stock rear end "good" I've been running the stock rear end in my 81 Toy 2WD for over 14 years behind a mild 350 / 200R4 with shift kit. I blew up 1 transmission and 1 engine........but the rear end is still alive. It will lay 100' + of two really black strips with a stock one wheeler peeler rear end. Why I don't know. I have a 9" Ford for it, but I hate to fix what ain't brocken. But you can get much better gearing for the 9"
The 4x4 is beefier. It's an 8" as compared to your 7.5". But either will suffice. And yes, Supra LSD.
ok thanks guys what series/year supra rear diff do i need and does it drop right into the 2wd pickup rear end or do i have to do the whole rear axle swap? as for the rear end in my truck i believe that it is a 7.5 inch since it doesn't look my 4wd 4Runner rear end...
