83 Automatic

    Help!..My Automatic Pickup will idle at about 800 rpm while in Park..As soon as i put her in Drive or Reverse the idle will drop to 500 rpm and the engine will shake like a diesel...Any idea why?..tks,Chris..Noob..

    Truck:
    1982 2wd p/u, 1983 toyota trailblazer, 1982 toyota truggy (next, just a cab/frame now)
    you could bump the idle up a little bit? or maybe a vaccum leak and pressing the brakes is dropping the idle.. from the brake booster. just my guesses. not many people have old p/u with auto
