Well last week i was cruising around with my girlfriend when i spotted a 2nd Gen Hilux sitting on the side of a house. Its rusty and has the hood popped open. So naturally i went and knocked on the door to ask about it. Well, no one answered so i decided to leave a note with my name and number. Drove past that house a few more times during the week and everytime i passed by i looked and saw it there. Well today i decided to stop by and knock on the door again. And an older man came to the door and instantly asked "Are you JJ?" well we started talking about the truck and came down to him telling me that the truck is either going to the Salvation Army so he can get a tax write-off or he will call me and let me have the truck. Needless to say im fckin excited!!! Its a 77 Hilux. has engine problems and rust but its just begging fro some TLC. He asked what my plans were for it and i responded with one word "REBUILD". He seemed more interested to speak to me after that. Hope he calls me back. Just figure id share my excitement and my story with you guys
i want one of each bodystyle. The 1st and 2nd gen Hilux are the two i really want since theyre popping up more and more but theyre getting snatched up really fast
I found one 1960's up in San Louis I couldn't get to. I really wanted that one! I wonder if it's still there.
Anything 1975 and older is smog exempt. 1976 n newer has to smog. But engine swaps are do-able aslong as it emits less smog than wat was already in it
I seen a stout today on a semi car hauler. I was like holy **** thts a stout!!! It was like a greenish color
An smog they can get u because if your trucks "bday" is after a certain date in 75 you'll have to smog it. My buddy almost had to smog is but it was "birthed" before the date
Ima try my best to get it NAM. i dnt wana seem too pushy with the owner. But il probably go and ask about it in like another week or 2 if he dnt call me. N dude snatch up the stout!! How much did they want for it
Are yota's really that hard to come by down there? I can just about fart out a pre 95 toyota celica or pickup for under $700 any time I want. I've turned down rigs in the $400 range because I felt it was too much. I can pick up a 66 stout that I know drove into the wrecking yard in the late 70's for $350 that is still complete and unmolested but I don't have a use for it. Stuff like that is everywhere up here and on this side of the mountains we don't have rust issues.
Why not offer the guy cash, no tax write off... Give the man cash and have sign it over as a gift on the title.
