That last pic in post #17 looks like the bed is bobbed. That would be a cool original look for a streeter! Being shorter makes it look cool & gives it that racey original look....something different. Doesn't have to just be a dirt thing. I thought this a couple weeks ago when I first saw it.

    1982 Pt. 4

So its been exactly 3 months that I've posted on my 82. Man,time goes by so fast! My goal was to have it on the road by the end of March. Didnt want my 82 project to fall into that I'm never going to finish it will just sit there. Well I have all the components. I just need to install all my new shocks, got a dentless new/used hood for $25, and just installing a few other parts. The big job is just finding the right priced motor to just get this on the road. These pics are just the last body it needs. As you can see it needs a new lip welded for the windshield and theres a small rust hole on the driver side floor pan. The rest of the pics is just showing the thorough cleaning I did myself on the inside of the dash/wire harnesses. Plan to have this all done and on the road tentatively by the end of this month...:waytogo:

So I picked this up for $100 off a guy who had it on his crawler. Its a 20r in very good condition. I'm having SD Taco do all the checkups before we drop in my 82. Man I cant wait to get the 82 runnin....:verdict_in: By the way I got this 2 weeks ago. Ill post pics on how much Ive cleaned her up!

So today I had a day off.. great weather so I took advantage of it. Basically did some cosmetic work. I just scored some 79-83 projector headlights off Ebay for $17.90! So with that motivation I straighten the front end and painted the it and the engine bay. Dont mind the block thats coming out and the 20R will be going in soon... I also was able to paint the original grill and headlight bezels. The only thing I cant use the is the front bumper its too bent and mangled. So I'm looking for one now... I have been able to use some of the original parts on the truck which will save me money in the long run.. Here are some pics...:meemee:

I think the previous owner said the block is crack. SD Yota has been helping me out tremendously on this build. He says that its not worth a re-build..

Well I just realized that I havent posted on this thread for almost 2 years! Anyways Im always on here but since I moved into a place where theres no room to work the projet sat for all of 2010. But the great news is that Im moving April 1st into a house with all the garage space. Ill be up working / finishing my project. I have all the final exterior/interior parts to put in. I have potential motor coming in and Beefd needs to finish all my notches. Today I went with a fellow MTer to pic ur parts and got tons of pieces off a 80 truck. It was 50% off and got interior black pieces to complete my tan to black color conversion. All I paid is 36 buxs and I made out like a bandit! Pics will be coming in April once the truck gets into its nwe home! Stay tuned!

    Nice

Looking good. Recently did the same with mine. An hour or two a day really adds up. People on guam like to run 20r blocks with 22r heads for higher compression. Pop-up pistons baby.

Yup it does add up. I plan to push my 82 out tomorrow since it stopped raining today. Plan to work on the interior and install all the trim pieces I got at the yard. Then I will section off the drivers side hole Ive got on the floor pan. Im moving into a bigger place on 1st so i want to get all the misc work done by then. Once in the bigger place the notches will be done and motor dropped in. I want it done before the summer.:clapping:

Ok I pushed it out today for the first since last Feb. It hasnt seen the sun since then so I needed to remind my 82 thats it wont sit like that for sure ever again. I took some old tires from my wifes old wheels and using them as spares. I put the old tires on the 300 steelies and decided to slap them on. Man what a difference! I cant wait to have the motor in and the truck will level out. Im going to have to trim the lips on the front and back fenders. Im mostly concern about the rear ones cause I dont want it to tear up the sidewalls. In the front I have enough clearance and Im just going to remove the inner fender liners and Im set. Ok, heres the pics!
