78 shortbed build

    finally my build thread... picked this 78 up last summer for 500 bucks. had a blown headgasket and been over run by blackberry bushes. swapped motor, lowered with new wheels, and buffed it. still needs some fine tuning but its a project...

    will take more pics after i change the bad fenders and doors.... thanks to Matt's 78 bomber that
    got wrecked i was able to get some body parts the same color. also have a header and cam that will go on in the future.

    after fenders and doors i will try and clean up the bed. the tailgate was rusted pretty bad so found the replacement on it on cl for 30 bucks even tho its a mustard yellow :eyecrazy: sand, primer, and paint bed is next in line. probably in summer tho....

    Those are some really nice manuals on the seat. That Engbldr cam and Headmann header will make a difference. Did you get the key yet for the doors. I sent it 4 days ago?

    what kind of wheel are those? Any specs?
    I'm trying to find some wheels for my '76 and I need to know how far can I go with the positive offset.

    2010 kia soul wheels 16x6.5 +51 offset. im also using 5mm? spaces(1/8 inch)
    in the front. center bore fits over hub snug but grease cap is the only problem. thats why i dont have the center caps on the front. also rubbing wheel on full turn. think its zerk fitting on one of the ball joints. havent really looked at it yet



    hey Andy... i already tried to take the old grandpa bumper off only to find its also welded to the frame :doah:

    Those wheels looked familiar. They look clean on the truck tho. Every time i see one these trucks its making me want one more n more.
