so i got the tempeture sending unit that goes to the gauge, it does not go into either of the 2 on the front of the motor neither the green or the black, does anyone know i searched the web AND HAVENT HAD ANY LUCK thanks guys
yea but im really not sure were to look , im new to toyotas, i appreciate your input for sure though man do u have any pics of were to look
Behind the thermostat housing between the upper intake and the valvecover. It screws into the lower intake, it is the only sensor there so its pretty hard to miss.
well i replaced it and theres a little change it just stays on hot all the time now i know its the right sending unit foir the gauge because when i unlpug it it drops down to cold any other suggestion , maybe its faulty from the store?
look up in the FSM the resistance/temperature curve the sender should have. Does it read hot when you first start the engine? if the gauge moves like normal but higher when up to temp you might also want to get an actual thermometer to see how hot the engine is next to the sender.
yes it does as soon as i start it now.. before it took acouple minutes but not enough time for it to get hot like that, and it would read cold cold like all the way at the bottom, then just shoot up no in the middle
