I want to clean up my engine compartment badly. I've got a haynes manual with the layout in it. What can be removed there's tons of junk involved like bvsv, eacv, resonator, charcoal can, vsv, ebcv, and the list goes on! So what can I strip out? Oh it's an 88 carb

Is it a stock carb or possibly a weber? Cause the stock carbs need all that bs to run right. A weber only needs one vacuum hose! On my truck with a weber all that bs is gone.

It's stock carb but I've seen many stock carbs that have the canisters gone

You can delete all the vacuum hoses on the stock carbs. All you need to do is keep the vacuum advance lines then to remove all the others, all you do is take out the lines that go to the carb and seal them off with vacuum caps (same with charcoal canister). Works for me. I have a stock carb on my 78 (I've done it on other cars before too) and it runs better than before. Works for just about any carb. All you are doing is making sure there aren't any vacuum leaks

It's stock carb with k&n drop in round filter. Also just added a flowmaster 40 series and cut the cat if that tells u how much it's breathing
