Thinking about getting an early Hilux. I had a '79 that had a torsion bar front suspension, but I think these early Hiluxs have a coils spring and A-frame suspension.

How difficult are suspension parts for these trucks? Do they share suspensions with other toyotas, like Crown or Celica, or Corona?

Anybody put a toyota diesel in one?

Thanks. I've seen pics of these front suspensions and they look bullet proof. Still, they are old and the rubber cannot be in great shape. I don't think aftermarket rubber can come close to original rubber grease boots. Maybe the new urethane bushings are good, though.

I've been searching for an original paint, low rust example. Been searching for months. I'm always a day late. but I carry on. :>)
