Finally decided to do a build thread, Im gonna show what all Ive done over the last 3-4 years and then continue with what Im workin on now. This truck was my only daily driver for 2 years And for the last year and a half its been in my buddies garage... Now theres no garage space and its sitting outside and I have little to no money, Ive been cut off cause of my wedding in a few months and getting in a place etc etc. So projects will be small low budget for a little while :)

Here it is at Freak Show 3 years ago, This is how I was daily driving it, On the way home from the show, timing chain guide broke and a motor clean up took place

While the motor was apart I did some more mods while I had downtime, Shaved mirrors and bike mirrors went on

    Smoked the tails too

Back running and cleaned up... Got it back together, Washed and drove it for the first time in 5 months, And headed out the next morning at 7am For Carlisle Truck Nationals... All new wiring, battery in bed, and whole front of the motor replaced.

And heres where we are now, Now its on 18s Im hoping to atleast come up with enough money to get the wood bed floor done and get new door latches and get the interior back together so I can drive it again some, Im also trying to redo the back setup to get it to lay on 18s now (It layed fine on 17s) and then I am going to Z the front.

How do you like those suicide door hinges? How far do the open? Any problems with them?

the hinges are great, I'd say they open about 80 degrees, give or take, The door latches were my problem, they have given me issues since day 1. I need to weld in stops to keep them from bumping the body on full open, Kit was alot easier to tweak then regular suicide setups...

I traded that gate to "DaRoach" on here for the stock gate I put the lights in now. Yeah inside of the bed was pretty cut out when I got it, Which is why I started on a stock bed, even though alot of my new floor is gone now (under the raised bed floor) I wanted to start fresh. Yet another reason the old one is free for the taking

Nice progress man its coming along very well. Gotta a question though, are you running drop spindles up front?? On my truck Im thinking If I add drop spindles and remove and raise the tranny cross member I should be able to lay frame in the front without doing a Z. Just a thought on my end so wanted to see what you think.

So I was looking at your picture of the plated transmission crossmember. I was thinking of doing the same. My truck isn't z'd either but it would be better if it was because you could cut out more of the bottom of that crossmember since the transmission mount would get raised. So with that current configuration you can only cut out so much. I was wondering how much of a difference that made. Did it make the frame lay out completely? Or was the transmission crossmember still touching the ground first after you plated the bottom?
