I am thinking about spending a little extra money to get drop leaf springs so my truck can still haul some stuff since I am selling my 4x4 Tacoma. What drop blocks would work with these springs to give me a good static drop?

    STILLEN : Belltech Leaf Springs

3" and you're getting close to the bumpstops, it feels like **** from the bounce, but im so used to stiff rides. ~4" you'll be trimming the cross member because of the std cab's driveshaft. ~5" and you're right about ON the bumpstop. ~6" you would've removed the bumpstop a while back and be sitting on the frame with the axle.
at this point you'd notch your frame.
Once you're around ~7-8, your notch and anything else would determine the drivability of your static drop. lol.

So pick whatever springs you want and match with the corresponding steel blocks from BEEFED.

When I rode static dropped, I ran 2'' dropped springs & 2'' angled blocks. The 3rd member would hit once in a while,so jumped ahead with the notch!

my third member occasionally visits my cross member above it.
3"block and deleaf (with notch), I still haul stuff.

I was driving around when it snow stormed with 360lbs of sandbags in the back of my truck. So add another inch and a half to my already low drop.

Im gonna have 3" blocks for sale in a week or so. I suggest buying new hangers though always a recommendation to not re-use shackles/hangers. In fact I'll give them to you plus shipping if you want to wait.

I took a look at my truck last night and noticed i am at least 4 inches to the bumb stops. If i did the 3" drop leafs and 2 inch blocks and trimmed the bump stop would I be fine? Also I thought pulling a leaf makes your back end squishy?

yeah you would be fine but any big bumps and your going to bottom out, never pulled a leaf before but i can imagine it would be a little more soft

The main reason I am looking at new drop leafs is that I will be moving if a year or so after i sale my Tacoma and will need to haul a few things. The truck should not haul much after that but I also want good ride quality.

If i drop the rear end about 5 inches will i need to notch the cross member?

    Not all blocks are equal!
Some are angled to keep the pinion angle correct & some are not!
Some are cast & some are sold.
I've heard of cheap ones braking!

true some are angled but most are at 3" n up..you shoudn't been running anything bigger than a 3" block anyway, i have some pretty cheap ones and my truck has taken a beating as well as some decent loads weight wise and they have been on for around 8 years..I woudn't waste more than $30 on blocks no matter what they are made of or any special features, just my opinion:D
