About time someone has posted up such info and DOES have AC and wants to keep it. I'll most likely do this when I return to the states.

Make it look stock and you can get away w/ alot more. Go cut those little tube things w/ the caps off, get them welded closed and polish that t/b. I'll bet you park your truck next to a stock truck and most people won't be able to tell the difference. Except yours is shiny. And if most people can't tell the difference, you think a smog guy can?

I'm sure that it probably would have. Mine was already on, never knew why. I couldn't find anything wrong with it and it ran fine.
You may be able to find one of the other version ECU's and run it without a CEL. Not sure though.

o2 no, you definitly need that. You can toss the charcoal if you deleted the other evap valves and hoses..

Technically yes on both counts. But "NO is the better answer on the O2 sensor. It is used to measure the leftover oxygen in the exhaust gasses. Too much O2 and it adds fuel, too little and it leans it out. If you had an air/fuel meter hooked to it, you could monitor it and watch it bounce back and forth all the time. If you were to eliminate it, the ECU would go into "safe" mode and run rich all the time (just as it would if the sensor went bad) and waste gobs of fuel.

The charcoal canister can be eliminated, I did mine, but you will have to live with the occasional odor of gas fumes that will waft from the gas tank vent line. No biggie, I re-routed mine into the wheel well up by the corner light. Of course the vacuum lines to the canister will have to be capped also.

For anyone that has done this, did the check engine light come on. Im thinking of doing this and i would rather not have to look at that light.

I imagine that the CEL will come on. I also think you may run into smog issues, but there again, since we don't have inspections, I'm not sure what all they test for.

And Dano50, you know that was a joke right......?

As soon as the CEL comes on its over. A buncha vaccum caps will probably make u fail the visual inspection.
