dus any one have any tips or tricks to get these trucks to corner better? ive already installed energy suspension sway bar end links, and bilstein stiffer shocks, its also lowered 2 inches. with 15 by 7 1/2 motegi r7's
Good after market sway bars( bigger dia.), ploy bushings, good shocks,& tires ! And get them low to the ground!Static or air ride! When in doubt ,push down on the gas pedal!!
You can always butterfly brace the frame. Get IRS rear and upgrade front and get coilovers on all 4 corners. 4 link the rear maybe if no IRS. Good tires like Federal 595ss or Toyo proxes. Bigger sway bar.
Put your weight on the outside peg, sit further up on the seat, stick your leading foot out and up for weight distribution, look ahead and get on the gas!!

What tires do you have? Going from a cheap arse tire to a soft compound, hi-performance street tire will make all the difference. They are spendy though! Bigger sway bar, new poly bushings, good tires and wheels, sway a way bars.
I learned on supraforums.com about spot/stitch welding. You have a mig? Excellent! Go over your rocker panel area (body panels) and spot weld between each existing spot weld. It will effectively stiffen your body flex. Well on a Supra anyway. They also do that on the shock towers. You might be able to apply that idea to your truck. Our trucks are different than a Supra in the sense that the frame is huge and strong. That x bracing idea could be good. Or just work on the body mounting. Such as cab mounts and maybe torquing down the cab mount bolts. The other ideas are good too. Like sway bars and getting lower Lower LOWER
i wave a set goodyear eagle gt's on it, ill look into bracing the body, i was also thinking, would a rear swaw bar from a 4 runner work on it? and ill at least drop it one more inch.
Bracing the body on a framed truck is really going to do much.... for better handing its going go with the sway bar route first. Then if you arent happy fro there lower it more. Urethane bushings should help as well. 4runner sway will not work.
does anyone on here have a sway bar on the rear, or know what vehicle i can steel one from, that will not require too much butchering to make it work?
My rear Quickor Performance bar, 4140 chrome-molly spring steel, part number was#22582 Glen Rissberger may still be making bars out of his garage. He was the owner of the company,& was last talk with him 503-819-7847, Portland OR.
Factory bars will work if you get them to fit! But handing is better with a larger dia. bar of any type. The Quickor bars are the best I found. I first ran them on a very heavy E-250 Ford van with a modified 460 cu.in. engine /close to 600 hp, & it sat high with 16.5'' rims/handle like on rails! Got the bars for my Toy when I first started my project. Front ones will be remade with the truck on air now & CanDo a-arms out front. Just have to get the time to mock up & send north!
