I need some help understanding how this works. I understand its possible to deck the head to avoid yanking motor and swapping to pre 85 pistons. Good idea? How about, 2mm metal head gasket. I know this is a practice on turbo supras if your running a high compression block. Looking for suggestion form experienced been there done it members.

I'm quite confused over this post, but i'll try and give it a shot. First off, you only want to deck a head if you want more compression (more power) or if your head surface is seriously erroded or scratched. Also, why would you want to swap to pre-85 pistons with a laserblock? You'll be losing compression. Before year 85 you would have a shorter block and taller head. 85 and above you have the opposite. If you better clarify on what you are doing, the "been there done it members" will have an easier time helping.
