Ya its still a ways away from what you want but thats why its called a project truck. Even when you think your done your still not cause there is always something else that you want to change. I would say change your engine out if the price is right for that engine but if he wants to much i would say rebuilb yours.

    thats too true mate.

He hasnt given me a price yet, but i know itll be really cheap. He'll prob want to help rebuild it with me anyway, so he can learn more about the 22re, as he has a good one in his running celica.

Do work. Keep pushing that sand papper. Its coming along nicely.

How hard is it to get permission to cut up your OWN truck?, Australia SUCKS.

Only joking. Still wanna go some day and see that big red rock.

We can drive death traps in South Carolina, and some do. We don't even have inspections like other states, no emission tests. Love it:nana:

i aint been on TM in ages. A fair bit has happened to lux.
Shaved door handles and bonnet washer jets. Done some more on roll pan. Straightend some panels, fixed some more dents.
Bought 4runner grill and headlights, still to install them. Dinged my chrome bar, :( i hit a bull bar. New chrome bar this week. :D

nup. Need engineers cert. Or Mr. Cop will book you. And pull vehicle off the road or give you a defective.
I guess they want the roads safe. We should be allowed to do more on our vehicles, sux a bit dude.
The cops will prob notice my lux more now, with no door handles. :D

So, after cutting some of the radiator support i managed to get the 4runner lights sitting in. they still stick out to far, but im wondering if the 4runner corner lights are bigger than 4x4 hilux lights?
new chrome bar is on as well.
got towed home. cost $50aud cos boss towed me. for a 25min drive, thats cheap as.

the lights dont sit flush with the corner lights, but i love the look. :D

Looks good. What made the engine blow? How many miles did have on it, or kilometers?

pulled apart engine, was a piston/crankshaft bearing that was absoulutly destroyed, so i figure that because the crank is gouged from worn bearing, then piston would have damaged cylinder block, so i cbf fixing all that.

ive got a rebuilt 1984 22re, im gonna use that, i have the efi computer and wiring loom, and a write up on where to wire to, so wish me luck.
im also gonna put a manual gearbox in, i hate auto!

Lux had 197,000 kms when i got it, and got to 208,000 kms when it broke down. only 11,000 kms in... 5ish months. :S

Seems like it should have had more life to give being under 130,000 miles, my truck has just over that on it.

Yeah I definitely preferred my 4x4's 5 speed over my 2wd's automatic.

    haha, im hating auto!
So, 6 weeks later, i visit TM again :/
    Updates ey! XD
Engine from celica is in, swapped the efi on it for the carby off old engine. Looked into wiring efi up, auto elec wanted too much and i couldnt do it.
Lux starts, but runs rough/lopey. Tuning needed. It also stalls if its put into drive or reverse while foot is on brake, looking into the problem.
New engine definetly has more rumble to it. :D

Has had a reprime after doing some dints. Now a matt baby blue, i tinted the primer.
Swapped the headunit for a better one with USB connection off a mate. His gonna put my old one ina car his selling, figured we should keep the good headunit, haha.
Nothing new on the sunroof, been so busy with rest of problems, havent given it much thought except, i want one definetly.
    -caaatch.

slightly raise the idle speed and make sure the intake pipe has no air leaks, should be much better by then.

you should get a STi swap in your truck :D

Ive now decided to wait and save for a manual, that is after i pay rego, $500 :S
