Speaking of catch cans, I built 2 of them on my setup to cure the oil misting from the valve cover mounted breathers during times of boost since a PCV valve is pretty useless with the blower, they cured the problem. You can see the one in the upper right with the top mounted filter and the other front left plumbed into the air intake on the carb. Had to do a little creative modding with AN fittings and stainless hose but it works.

The only thing is that you create a vacuum leak, but you will need to plug the hose, but I would use an oil catch can. All you want is the gas from the PCV, but you want the oil to collect in the can, and not your intake.

How bouncy is the ride with a leaf pulled? I'm already riding on 3" blocks.

its actually pretty good.... i have stock shocks and its not that bad. with some GOOD shocks(im pickin up some toxic shocks this weekend) it should be cherry...

i'll tell u this tho... it makes a WORLD of difference if you take out/shave down your bump stops... my frame was sitting on my bump stops and had no play for the shocks(bouncy as hell!!!)

so ya take those out... and pull that leaf in the back it looks soooo much better!!! i'll post some pics.... and since you already have spindles in the front you can crank your tortions accordingly to match the back.

imo the 3 inch blocks with a pulled leaf and some good shocks is the perfect everyday driving DROP!

crank tortions in the front and pull leaf 3 inch blocks in the rear

Ide have to agree with the overall drop that OGtoy has, my 87' had this and it was perfect for driving around low & yet still maintaining a nice comfortable ride! Beautifull picture by the way OGtoy ! Nice job !

That looks sweet. Like that blue!
Are we talking about pulling the middle leaf out?
Also are you having any problems with the axle, where you would need to do a "c" notch?
I've toxics on mine and I've got to cut more of my bump stops down.
    I'm running on 18"
If you got pics of all or any of this, post them up, want to see how you did things.

How much more drop do you get from ditching the helper spring?

    OGtoy,

Thats HOT! Can you give some tips on removing the leaf spring and how to crank down tortions? I assume the middle one needs to be taken out.

I might tackle them this weekend.

i call my paint BLURPLE...hah it looks purple in some light ant blue in other light..

i havnt had any problems yet.. but i didnt shave down my bump stop i totally took it out... but i gotta say if you pull the middle leaf its not a good idea to pull the HELPER spring(the flat one on the bottom). the best way would be to leave the main leaf remove the middle leaf and leave the flat helper.

naaa c notch is not needed... you'll probobly be tucking your 18"s a little hopefully your rims arnt to wide and wont rub your bed. my 17x7.5's dont need fender modification

like i said above remove only the middle one... leave the helper(flat leaf) and the main leaf.

remove your ubolts first and then lower the axle from the leafs. use a strong screwdriver or something to pry the metal C looking brackets that connects the middle leaf to the main leaf.

then take out the middle leaf and put the ubolts back connecting the leafs to the axle with your 3 inch blocks in between..

it should take about an hour or so not to bad...

as for the tortions... its really hard to explain where the bolt is located (i'll try and take a picture for you...)but all i know is that its free spinning and you need a cresent wrench at the top of the bolt. and i believe you need a 21 or 22 mm socket on a 1/2 in drive.

LOSEN TO DROP AND TIGHTEN TO RAISE...

and since you already have a 2in drop from your spindles it shouldnt take to many cranks to lower it. (you might have to crank it about 5-8 full turns) i must warn you though sometimes these bolts are REALLY hard to turn.. it will seem like forever to et a full turn haha your arm will hurt soon enough...

HEY GO FOR IT!!! i wanna see some pics of your truck when its done!!! CHEE!! i jut sold my red/clear tail lights today and i'll be picking up the LEDS, TRD + HILUX emblems this weekend!!!

the tortion bolt is exactly 14 inches back from where the door starts...
after you measure 14 inches back then go straight under..

if you see the cat keep looking more in and you should see a bolt that looks like this...
it is very important to put a cresent wrench on the top of the tortion bolt or it will just be free spinning and you will be cranking for nothing... there is a tortion bolt for each side and the best way to measure how much you drop or raise it would be to measure from the middle and top of the fender well to the ground.

hope that helps... now go and do it and take pics when your done....

I'll give it a shot this coming weekend and will post some picture when Im done.
Note to self...tight to raise, losen to lower...tight to raise, losen to lower..

Oh, I've did some research of my own and found some pictures on how to remove the middle leaf spring...
