By alisn4x4 at 2010-06-08
hey whats the deal with blocking of the egr and all that air injection stuff? Can you still pass emissions? whats the benefit of it? i've always heard about it but never looked into it
do you have the wire harness that plugs into the turbo cluster? i was gonna buy one down here for $60 but never had the harness. i think our original harness won't fit.
no, the original harness will not work.... you'll need a turbo harness (witch i dont have ) beyond that, its a matter of figuring out what wire does what and splice it into the trucks existing harness. pretty simple but you'll need the pigtails for it.
Depends where your at, My old 86 actually passed the sniffer test after I sold it to someone who had smog in their area. I had blocked off EGR, and all the tubes, weber carb, high flow cat and free flowing exhaust, He tuned the carb before taking it in and it passed sniffer and visual, cause the header was approved and I welded up the tube ports and ground smooth and cermaic coated the headers before I put them on, And of course it passed visual here where Im at cause it had a cat. ...Sorry for the thread hijacking, How much for that volt guage shipped to 23117?
a/c is for people that can afford the power loss........ thus why its not going on my truck afterall.
sorry its been a few days since i had time guys. cruise and a few other personal things going has had me viced down. ill try and get all the requests and shipping quotes organized tomorrow.
i know the EGR's for efi and carb are different. however all the 22r and 22re within motor specs should cross over to all pertaining motors..... my valve is an aftermarket one but worked juts fine. stupid thing cost me a damn expensive penny. BYE- both covers are in pretty good shape. no pitting at all on the water pump area. some minor gouges from the chain slapping around but nothing seriously detrimental to the cover. i would say at worst less than 1/16th of an inch gouge on both covers...... a little dirty but otherwise well useable covers. let me know. the A/C stuff for those who asked i've yet to yank the evaporator out of the truck aloonng with the harness and relay. i will need ot do that this weekend. the fan im still looking for a box large enough to stuff it and the clutch into..... wouldnt guess more than 10 bucks or so to ship it out flat rate. the auto meter gauge ill do 20 shipped..... if you had any other questions on parts let me know guys.
