about two months ago before i started checking up. 18mpg babying it. then i got the engine to run smoother 23mpg then i did my intake/ battery swap, drove the **** out of the last few gallons. and I got 24.5mpg. My mind is blown apart. I'm unsure of my next tank since my friend has possession of the truck, and i hope they keep track of filling it and all.
Got that backwards, Adam(with the windows down) went farther than Jamie did with the A/C on. I just saw that episode again the other day. If I remember right from last summer I was getting about 21-24mpg depending on how I drove. I have a 3.0 V6 and sometimes drive with a heavy foot.
If you built it for pure highway miles, and did some mods to help it breathe better...it should be able to. Remove excess weight, run narrower tires than stock, lower it down, get your gearing to where you're turning about 2000-2500rpm at 60-70mph, ect. The ex cab factor should only add a little weight, but shouldn't effect aerodynamics and drag coefficients.
93 std cab 22RE 5spd 2wd with a mix of city and highway it gets about 25-26 mpg. My wife's '08 Focus she had did 35 mpg cruising at 75-80.
are you runing a air-intake and aftermarket exhaust??? it might help to let the motor breath more.my toyota only has a air-intake and flowmaster 40 series exhaust.it's 2 1/4 all the way back.i get really good mileage from my truck too!!!
Starter has been replaced from factory. Motor was rebuilt according to previous owner. New plugs, wires, distributor. Fuel cell was replaced.
13 is worst than a v10, you should consider buying a lambo since you already can afford the gas for it just kidding, get new o2 sensors
My '02 Silverado with a 5.3V8 Auto gets better than that, 18-19mpg! On long trips I've gotten as much as 22mpg. Out of the Toyota PUs I've had, I used to get about 35mpg on the freeway with the '88, and about 27-28mpg in the '97 Tacoma. I'll be happy if my '80 gets better mileage than my Silverado. Plus it's a hell of a lot cheaper to fix when things break!!!!!!
what do you mean shot gun repair? when i changed my o2 sensors , i picked up 4 more miles to each gallon
He said he is getting 13mpg on a 2wd.. You have to diagnose the problem before you throw a part at it. He could have a bad O2 sensor that is giving him a false reading to the ecu. But he could have a leaking injector, a faulty pressure regulator.
