Wow, wish either one of my trucks were that clean. Welcome aboard. :)

Btw, your front end, grille and hood emblem look like they are from an earlier 70's HiLux...72'-74'. Cab vents are mid to early 70's, too. Although the bed appears to be post 74'.

    Are you Stateside or overseas?

Good call man yeah I'm in salt lake city.
as I'm not too familiar with these trucks yet im just going by what the title says that its a 76.
its just had the engine done about 20k miles ago and the interior is in great shape so im pretty excited about it!
Im leaning back and forth on the paint job but its starting to grow on me.
But for 1300$ you cant find a truck this clean.

If it's the original color, I'd leave it be. Either way, the paint looks pretty clean from what I can see. Unless she was a frame off restoration, I'm sure you'll find other things you can throw money & effort at.

I've always liked the yellow. I think it looks funky, even weathered & oxidized. Then again, I'm biased - grew up around that color HiLux.

72-78 shares a bodystyle with only minor differences. there was a small and large cab vent. they had a 72-74 grille and a 75-78 grille. the front emblem went from the hood to in the later grille. the later grille came painted or plastichromed. the rear marker light moved from up high to down low at some point. the rear reflector moved from the tailgate to under the tail light. they made a fender emblem change from "hilux" to "toyota". the older trucks (72-74) seem to be the only ones ive seen that had a chrome inner door handle. but are swapable to the later truck. there was a steering wheel redesign at some point, eliminating the third spoke the older ones had. the obvious 72-74 motor being different, later had the 20r. ive also noticed the older beds had a different number of bed hooks than the later ones. later (again, unsure of the exact cutoff) ones had 3 for longbeds, and 4 for shorties. dont know why less for the long bed. lol. they also added a fuel filler door at a certain point. a/c came in a factory part with controls under the glove box, and a dealer version with controls above the trans tunnel. i think those are the only real differences. visually anyways. and 75 up had disc brakes.

You know a whole hellalot about hilux. I looked at a 77 before I got the 72 (B) and I was like " they have a gas cap lid now". I thought they were the same. Your like the toyota Yoda. That should be your new name.
