i think i have it figured out for the 4runner now. i am looking here in AZ for an 88-95 regular cab short bed 2 wheel drive pickup with a 4 cyl and a 5 speed. I will replace the front end and fix the dash of my 92 xtra cab v6 automatic with the front end and dash parts from the 2wd regular cab that i buy. i will then put the body from the 4runner onto the regular cab frame and suspension. this should work from what info i recieved from everybody here and the specs i've found online. the wheelbase for the regular cab pickup is 103 inches and the wheelbase for the 4runner is 103.3 inches, so hopefully all that i will need to do is a lot of work and new body mounts on the 2wd frame. i will then have my 92 2wd xtra cab v6 put together and running good. and i will have my 4runner dropped onto a 2wd frame with a 4 cyl and 5 speed. then once i have the money, i will get my 1jz or 2jz and drop it into the 4runner with the BIC Performance 1/2jz swap kit. it sounds like a plan to me. then i will just part out the 4runner frame and suspension and everything and also try to sell the rest of the body from the reg cab. also gonna try to pick up that 83 from my other craigslist post and begin on that.

i believe it is. the 1jz is 2.5L and the 2jz is 3.0. somebody correct me if i'm wrong please, but also, isn't the 2jz out of the 93-98 supras and the 1jz is out of the previous supras?

how was it? i haven't been this year. i actually haven't been in a few years. military kinda got in the way of bein able to snowboard. and i'm spending all my money on vehicles. i've got the 4runner, the xtra cab, and 2 lifted 89 chevys. one chevy runs, and the other is waiting for all the parts off the one that does run. the body and everything is a lot nicer on the one that isn't running.

for the 4runner plan, it sounds good to me. that would be the cool way to go about it. then sell the V6 pickup and all the short cab and 4runner extra parts on craigslist. use all that to fund getting your 4runner and chevys going. cant spread yourself too thin on projects or nothing ever gets done.

it's not too bad. go to the bar every now and then or go to a house party or something. most of the people are pretty chill up here. but the only 24 hour food place up here is denny's. and there's a lot of mormons and people who look down on you if your not a hick.

it was great! the runs from the top of the mountain had some really nice powder. i'm hoping to go back up before the snow is gone.

last time we went there was rocks/dirt showing in places, and the snow was all hard packed. it sucked.

nah i've never been on apache. it didn't look like anyone was on the backside actually.

but it was a tuesday and wasn't very busy, so that could be why it wasn't open.

1JZ and 2JZ are very similar in size. length wise is no difference. the 2JZ has more stroke I believe. both have same bore (86mm correct me)

but yeah, 1JZ is a nice motor, and if the block blows out (if ever), just grab a 2JZ bottom end :D

The 1JZ is a JDM only motor and that makes getting parts for it an issue.

At the end of the mk3 supra over in japan only it got the 1jz, toyota had realized the 7m was a head gasket killer and had upgraded their supras to the 1jz
but it never made it to the US mk3
So when the mk4 came out it naturally got the next motor in the new jz generation the 2jz...

    If and when I do a motor it will be a gen3 or gen4 GM 5.3L v8!
    315hp 340trq
Cheap reliable and faster than any toyota motor right out da box~!

I know I know most of you toyota purists are screaming NO WAY!

Look guys, most the parts we ad and modify are trucks with are NOT toyota parts... I feel no need or like I owe my toyota a toyota motor
neither of us deserve the endlessly slow life of the underpowered toyota motor...

Sorry but my 6.0 GTO has cured me of any toyota motor loyalty 8)
