so..... my little brother has joined the service (he's 17, and a junior in highschool), he goes on the weekends and then goes to school during the week. he is leaving for bootcamp on june 2. in mid may he is getting the first half of his enlistment bonus (10g's). he is going to buy every part we need to get this project buttoned up. I'm basically going to have to do everything myself, but with all the parts it shouldn't be too bad. If all goes right it will be running in august when he gets back from bootcamp, and will be driven to its first show. then he can drive it for his senior year of highschool. once he graduates and goes back to the military it comes back to me for safe storage. (where we grew up its literally ghetto, gangs, drive bys and all). so........ there should be some progress soon!:)

my bro tried to join the marines when he was 15. he actually had our parents sign a paper saying he is free to make any decisions he wants. thats how he got in being 17. he's really into that stuff. when he said he wanted to use the money towards the truck i mentioned saving for a house. he will be getting another 10g's next may so he said the truck is priority. you should come out and give me a hand!!!!!!

Well, tell your bro, THANKS! And get ready for the gas chamber...lol. My bro-in-law joined 1 1/2 years ago. He is in the Guard. He did bootcamp & AIT. His company is in Iraq right now, they didn't take him cause lack of experience. My dad was Nam, & my grandpa was WWII.

Anyway, wow! Can't wait to see that thing done! Nice work guys!

    I'd bet!

I was in the Temecula Valley Young Marines for a few years. Made friends with a lot of now-Marines, and the drill instructors were very cool. Would I do it again? YES! All I would have been doing anyway around that times is sitting on my but watching cartoons.

Sorry to thread jack bernie. Truck looks b****en!:waytogo:

Understandable. My cousin Aaron just got married and joined the Navy. He helped me replace my fuel pump before he left for boot camp. Sounds like he's loving it.

Cool how you did the chop... I could never do that, if I turn out like my dad, I'll have a hard enough time trying to fit in my own truck, he slams his head in mine over every small bump... probably just the jacked up torsions.
