I thought I asked ya before but how did your timing chain fix go ??? I searched for a thread with a million and 1 pictures and details but there was none.. just curious to see if you got her running again man
Yup, you did ask me. I don't know where that thread go! Everything went smoothly. Except for a few things. I had tool problems. Lesson 1 - Don't use a 3/8ths ratchet to break loose your main crank bolt. You'll end up breaking the ratchet instead. In my case, I broke 2 of these. One went clockwise, the other went counter clock wise.. that, was real fun,.. Lesson 2 - If you can't get the cross member off... you will go to the steering linkage route.. Don't mess up the threads when using a tie rod puller! And then you will eventually need to unbolt Engine mounts... then hte oil pickup tube... MORE WORK!!! GAWHHH I can't remember what else i said! Any questions you wanna ask me about my job, just ask me lol. I think it helped me learn more about the truck.
Not at all. This was actually done in two weeks. Week one (monday)>> Started the teardown of the front end to gain space and get things prepped so when parts arrive, they are ready to install.... Ordered parts on Thursday..... Between Week 1 and Week 2, it was winter.... and i was a fool to park the truck outside, so I had to work on the truck in the cold... I worked nonstop from 4PM til 9-Midnight.... True minitrucker kekekeke Week two, about monday, things are all taken apart. I finally found out how to get that oil pan out. Around Wednesday, everything is installed by 12AM. Parts came in the morning. But I had the tie-rod thread problem, a friend came over on Thursday, we went and got a thread repair kit. We eventually took the original Nut and decided to re-thread the tie rod threads with it. After that everything was installed. Only things left out were the A/C belt (the adjuster is rusted on... won't budge!!!) and the following weeks I ran into alternator problems. It was actually my error that the ground wire for the alternator wasn't tight....
