Hi I am new to this forum.
I have a 1978 SR5 with a 20R engine. Truck is a five speed, SR5 obviously. The truck also has air conditioning.

Up to date I have had the motor rebuilt. New clutch , pressure plate and throw out bearing.

I am putting on a flow-master header, just for fun.

I am also converting to a Weber carburetor and removing unnecessary equipment.

So far things have been going GREAT. Header fits perfect.

So the dilemma I have ran into is this. The air pump runs on the same belt that the air conditioning runs on. So I thought no problem get a smaller belt and take off the smog pump, but alas not so fast as the smog pump is the pivot point to adjust the tension on the belt. So I can get a custom belt to run the A/C but I will not be able to adjust the tension. Is there anyone out there that has addressed this issue. maybe a custom made bracket, not sure. Has anyone cross this bridge and solved this? I would appreciate the help?
    thank you
