Above is my freshly painted 92 Toyota standard bed 4 cyl 22RE. I've owned it since 93 and it has a low 149K miles on it. I also got the uhpolstery redone and got new shocks all around. Truck runs as strong and as dependable as it did in 93 when I bought it. Here is how it looked a couple months ago:
Thanks for the complements. No, I didn't paint it myself it cost me $5K for the paintjob, but it was done by local professionals with a good reputation (they do show cars). I paid $9K for my truck back in '93 and it's probably saved me thousands (over the 25 years I've owned it) in savings compared to me buying a new truck with the jacked up registration and insurance costs of new, vs older.
Its actually really nice seeing a truck that hasnt been molested or abused. Paint turned out nice. What color is it?
It does look great. I wish they could have left the TOYOTA logo on the back tailgate. I have a 92 that is in great mechanical shape, but the paint is badly faded, 2 replacement fenders, and several dents here and there. I have been thinking about having some body work and paint done to it. I haven't been able to convince myself.
