Ok so here it goes.... finally swapped the fuel level sending unit. I ended up ordering the 10.5" length from Speedhut. Was a really straight forward, mounting it was the hardest part because the holes are in a slightly different pattern than the OEM style. Nothing the dremel couldnt take care of. On to the pics

Holes after some massaging, not pretty i know.

    Wired up a little pigtail

Everything back in, reset the gauge to read the senders ohm range and loaded with ~4 gallons of fuel

Welp... the replacement shock broke on saturday. Its obviously something to do with the truck not a faulty shock.

Not sure if the mounts arent straight enough or im getting some side to side movement on the axle.

I swapped the other KYB for the air shocks i had on before. Lets see what happens with these

The mounts are more than strong enough, i know i rushed welding one pair of upper tabs and im sure theyre a little off from lowers. Just need to go over it all

Are the shocks bottoming out to do that? I’d imagine the mounts would have to be pretty far off to do that

No they still have about 5 inches of travel. Its either that the mounts are off or the fact i didnt use the metal sleeve in the lower bushing thats messing it up. Idk. Still havent had a chance to mess with it sadly

Hmm I’m thinking a shock would be able to compensate mounts being slightly off since it pivots and rotates, no? Perhaps not using the sleeve is causing binding on that side and it’s not moving like it should as the suspension cycles

Good luck hopefully this resolves it

Hey BTW - what height are your tires on the 17s? I couldn't find that info in your build. Also wondering what your F/R height is from center axles to bottom of fenders since you're lower than Mighty Max springs drop height, right? Thanks

Im going to try it out tomorrow. Hopefully my fix works.

Im running 205/40/17 Achilles tires. They're smaller than 24" tall. My wheel wells are right around 24" from the ground and frame is about 6" off the ground

    Awesome - thanks!

So you're only at around a 3" drop? I thought it was a little bit more. I took a tape measure to my truck last weekend and saw I'm ~27" from ground to top of wheel well in front, ~15" center axle to bottom of fender. I'm thinking a tire just smaller than 24" would be the appropriate fit with a 3" drop.

How much off is your speedometer now and what sort of RPMs are you at on the highway?

Have you done anything about the oil pressure and water temp on the gauge? Also, which size did you buy (sorry mine is buried right now). TIA!!!

@Perkolator The Speedhut speedometer i have is actually a GPS unit but my RPMs at 65mph are around 2500 if i remember right. Im running a W58

@Dan McBoost i have the water temp and oil pressure on a quad gauge from Speedhut i posted pics of it a few months back if you want to take a look

Ah that's right the Speedhut is a GPS speedo. Fancy

Dang I'd love to be at only 2500rpm at 65mph, sounds like I'm a little bit higher at around 3k at 65. My W50 has a lower 5th gear ratio than your W58 so that would explain some of it. You have 4.10 gearing too, right?
