Damn thats pretty close. This little console is about 9" long and theres a couple inches between it and the heater.

If anything you can mount it up under the dash

Havent updated this in a while so here it goes. I finally got the trans xmember tucked up and installed. Got the exhaust done, ended up using the 4-1 20R header with 2.25" tubing all the way back with a glasspack dumping infront of the driver rear wheel.

I attempted to get the speedo cable hooked up just to find out its too short since the W58 has the input on the pass side instead of driver side, so i went ahead and ordered the speedhut speedo with built in tach.

Im also going to start the process of replacing the valve guide seals in the head since im getting small puffs of blue smoke, figured that would be a good place to start

Pics to come when more shit comes in

    How does the glasspack sound?
I've had a hell of a time trying to find exhaust sound clips of 20r engines with different setups.
Got a link to the new speedo you're getting?

It honestly sounds pretty good. Muffled the exhaust a good amount while still giving it a good tone. Il get a sound clip or video as soon as im done swapping out the valve seals.

And i got it at speedhut.com

Sweet, look forward to hearing the sound clip. Actually I've contemplated just adding in a glasspack in front of the Flowmaster somewhere. Kinda guessing it will take out some of the sound I don't like and act similar to a CAT but without the smog benefit.

I meant WHICH gauge are you getting? They sell many different ones.

So yesterday i was able to get the valve seals changed out. This was the first one i pulled off. Didnt get any other pics though

The 4 seals on #1 and #2 cylinder wete the worst. I was just about able to pull them off by hand.

Today i got everything put back together, il be messing with the timing at some point these next few days. But it runs pretty good so far and i havent seen any more blue smoke so :waytogo:

    *Update*

Wednesday i was in the garage messing with the truck had it running for a little while went to drive in to the garage and she started running kinda crappy. Ended up swapping the coil thinking that was the issue, it wasnt. Turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator somehow took a dump. Wasnt letting any fuel in to the carb. Bypassed it and shes running fine. Il see what il do later about the FPR.

    Update 2.
FINALLY got my speedo in from Speedhut and im very happy with it. Rushed to get the bitch installed and it worked out pretty good.

I saw how they looked on the Lolalux build and copied how he did it. It fit prefect in the bezel.

And its only a 4 wire hook up for the speedo itself. And another wire for the tach.

Man those gauges are super sharp! I’ve been trying to figure where and what style tach to put in mine. How was the install? Pretty cute and dry or did you have to do a lot of fab’ing?

Old BMW projectors with a HID kit i had laying around. Google "BMW ellipsoids" and youll see em. Just had to cut the headlight buckets and do some trimming to the core support for them to fit. That pic does them no justice tho

Super simple install. Pulled the factory gauges out and this one fits right in the bezel opening. Gauge has a spin lock ring on the back to hold it snug. I just cut the factory gauge pod right where the speedo opening starts and screwed everything back in place.

This one was 4-5 wires. Ground, ignition+, illumination, constant+, and tach signal. I already had everything ran for the old tach, i just reused the wiring for that and hooked up a constant+.

If you go the speedhut route, buy the 4" size gauges.

Hey man I know I’m touching on past pics from your build but real quick, on your seats. First off they look nice! Did you have them custom made? I’m looking to change mine up. I’m still rollin the throwback ‘80s look.
