You think the trans tunnel modification is due to the eBay mounts placing the engine higher? I'm torn on buying bolt in mounts for time saving, or fabbing custom (simple) mounts like yotarip did... Bolt in is appealing, since I haven't acquired a welder yet, lol.
Yes it is due to the motor mounts. Thats why when someone asks what mounts to get i suggest the xessive mounts. Now some fabrication work is needed... The transmission is bolted in. Propeller shaft is in place. Im going to just notch the whole cab since the propeller shaft will hit the rear of the cab. Trans has to move up about 2 inches at the shifter.
Have been looking for a while now. I cant seem to find any decent ones locally. Hate having to get rid of the perfect bench seat too. It's coming out tonight for good.
Thanks for the info. Im going to make a junkyard run for a different oil filter bracket ill take a look at celicas.
Bench seat is removed. Now my cousins are using it to kick back and watch me work. Found some change to add to my new seats fund.
Damn dude, you gotta get out the vacuum and clean that shit up. Also now is a good time to lay down some sound dampener material.
I cleaned it right after. I used some dregreaser to get some shit to lift off the floor. Im going spray some sound dampner after the floor is notched.
Question tho, question, how do you plan on doing without the check engine light? Unless you are planning on running cats:/
I have an LED that turns on when there is power to the computer. That also doubles as the check engine light when a couple of wires are jumped. Not going to run any cats. There arent any smog checks or inspections here.
There isn't any smog checks here either. I just don't wanna drive around with my cel on all the time because there isn't any cats:/
Hey man. I meant to let you know that you will need hose reducers to adapt the 1.5" lexus hoses to the 1.25" mr2 radiator tubes. Here's the part. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ado-31500/overview/ I have used them on three 1uz swaps and they work great. No issues with slipping off. They are reusable too. Also, that aluminum radiator works a little too good with the 1uz. I have trouble keeping the engine temps above 140 on the highway in weather under 30 degrees. I haven't tried a hotter thermostat yet because I don't drive it much during the winter anyway. BTW, I used a LS400 upper radiator hose and a lower radiator hose from a toyota previa on the passenger side. I had to cut it to length.
I noticed that when i received the radiator. I already ordered the exact reducers . I needed a radiator that would keep the truck nice and cold. I dont plan on using the truck during winter and the temperatures here are never below 90 during summer. Thanks for the info on the radiator hoses i havent picked those up yet. There are cat simulators out there. I didnt research them much but im sure you can make your own. Anything to do with emissions has been removed.
Just received my oil filter relocation plate from Xcessive Manufacturing. I't showed sooner than expected.
