Just wanted to pop in and finally register since I've been stalking this website for a few weeks now. I have a 1994 DLX xcab 5-speed 22RE which I just got a month ago. It's bone stock other than the radio and dash speakers. This is my second toyota pickup the first being a red 94 single cab which got me hooked on these sweet little trucks! Plans for the truck is belltech front spindles with a ball joint flip and 4" blocks in the rear. Not sure what shocks to go with yet but I don't want to bounce around everywhere. I really would like to have air shocks in the rear for hauling purposes. What do yall recommend for front shocks? I also want to put belltech front and rear sway bars. Here's the photo story I've compiled so far. Put limo tint all around. Regret that now lol. The paint was heavily oxidized but with a little elbow grease it shined up nicely. Before: After: A little back story on how I got the truck, I sold this to buy is basically. My other toyota Added a couple small things for convenience Carfax shows it's a 2 owner truck, clean title with 187k miles on the clock. Super happy to be back in a pickup and looking forward to my first lowered truck.
Hey welcome man. Looks great and clean. I got the 1ton sway bars from a junk yard. They are equivalent to belltech and way cheaper. Look up sdyota he has a detailed write up. I got spindles and bj flip up front. I run low profile bump stops and kyb monomax shocks up front. In the rear i have the 3 inch aluminum blocks. I have the beefed taco 4 inch blocks with grade 8 bolts brand new for sale if you are interested. They are tapered for our trucks and made of steel. You can go moroe air shocks part number ma727 from orilleys for 70 bucks lifetime warranty. I have those but not installed yet.
Thanks for the compliment! If I went with 3" control arms with 2" spindles would it ride like poop? Are the belltech street performance shocks any good for the front? Also how low can you go in the rear statically before you need to step notch the frame?
The plug was already behind the dash, just pop out the blank and plug it in, the plug is held together to some other wires with white tape. I removed the lower panel under the steering wheel to get to the plug to make it easier to get to.
I have the DJM Lower control arms and the belltech spindles up front on my 85. Didn't effect the ride at all. I'm running KYB Monomax shocks in front and back. The rule of thumb for the rear is anything over 4 inches you may want to look into a notch. I'm 7 inches down and just did a C-notch.
