love this look what all i have to do to my truck to accomplish this look and he's on 18'' too? step by step plz
First I apologize for replying to this on this thread.Looks to be about a 3 inch drop. That would mean 3 Inch blocks on the rear and about the same up front on the tortions.Besides that you will need that stock grey paint job and a house with a van in it's garage.Oh yeah and clear corner lights.
y r u guy's so mean to me? i just got the truck n wanted to do something to past my time n have fun while doing it is that really to much to ask for help with? I BEEN LOOKIN AT OTHER POST ON THIS SITE N GUYS EVEN SAID WELCOME TO THE NEW GUYS NO BODY HAS EVEN SAID S##T TO ME BUT JOKE AROUND ABOUT MY TRUCK N WHAT I WANNA DO WITH IT. at least get to know some1 first then u can shoot the sh#t around. "just another broke man with a dream. JUST ALL N FUN GUYS i am not here to b better just here to have fun n learn about my truck.
There are different options to lower your truck: FRONT 2" drop spindles 3" drop lower control arms 1" ball joint flip Torsion bar adjustment can drop it to the ground... REAR 1"-4" drop blocks 3" drop springs Removing leaves from your leaf springs 1"-2"? If you're broke, buy some drop blocks $30? 4" is about as low as you can go in the back before you start bottoming out the frame on you axle. And adjust your tosion bars down until your happy with the drop/ride....FREE. So, on the cheap, you can lower your truck to look like that one in the pic, for 30 bucks.... it might not ride very nice, but you gotta spend more than that to have both.... Do some searching man. You're asking the most basic of questions with no specific answer. There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum and you don't even have to post anuthing! Just search and read...
Really bro?I was simply throwing out a little humor with my answer to your very general question. That IS how I get to know somebody and from what I have learned so far is that you can't take a joke.So hey my apologies but damn bro chill out.I am more then willing to help.Btw welcome to the sight.Any info on where you're from.Thats a start.
No one is mean around here just messing with you its all out of fun and humor. Search craigslist for some different wheels usually you can find a set pretty cheap or atleast talk people down. Like said in previous post lowering cheap on these trucks is easy balljoint flip gives an inch pulling the middle leaf spring gives about an inch. Adding a block to the rear and loosening the torsion bars will give you alot of drop but crappy ride. Welcome to the site man
ty u for the help now i need to know how much more i need to invest for a decent ride with the same in mind low budget is there some other small adjustments that can b made or other components to buy the can tweak the cheap drop into a decent ride? or is here where i stand with a cheap drop. i have just about 300 to play with but dont wanna spend it all in 1 place i want to b able to do a tune up n other stuff.just think about it n let me know dont just say dude u r a tune lol but if it has to be said i will understand it is what it is. thanking u in advance
Blocks, torsion bar adjustment, remember to cut down your bump stops, tune-up and spend the rest on some good shocks.
While you will think this is another mean answer, this is truly the best answer that no one has givin you yet. Your new so are probably unaware of this tool. At the top right is a tab that reads Search. Use it to find answers to all your questions. The questions your asking have already been asked thousands of times before. Many members have taken their personal time to write threads in detail about what your asking. Telling us to give you all the answers without you taking time to read and learn things for yourself doesn't show initiative. Then responding in CAPS, as if to be yelling only makes it worse. Where do you live? Maybe a member may live close by and might have time to help show you how things work. By the way $300 is way too low a budget for all you want to do. Oh and HI, welcome to the forum. I luv trollin
Actually, that isn't totally accurate. I AM really just mean, but fortunately, people just assume that I'm being humorously sarcastic so I don't get beaten up all the time. Hello, by the way. Sorry for not saying that before. Everyone here really does seem to be inclusive and nice, even when we disagree. As for the advice, I personally would go with the tune-up aspect first. Get the truck running and reliable first and work on the looks second. A lowered truck with wheels looks really cool, but if it won't pull out of your driveway, its just pretty yard art. Same goes with a truck you have to constantly worry about breakdowns with. After that, If your on a budget (like I am) the you-pull-it junk yards are your friend. Learn the schedule for when new cars are put out on the lots in your area and try to be there asap when they are. I know some guys that have that as theyre hobby. I know a couple others who have a side business with it. They know which parts are needed/desirable and pull them right away and then sell them on ebay for a markup. For wheels on a budget, look at stock wheels from other makes with the 5 on 114.5 bolt pattern. A lot of them can be bought cheap and look awesome on our trucks. Sometimes the whole look of a wheel can be changed just by painting or polishing them and you would never know they are stock on another car. I hope that helps. And yes, the search function is nice and the the various write-ups are very informative. Its worth the time to look into them.
