What would you pay for a 0 mile never started 20/22r hybrid motor? It's got a bored .040 over block with New bearings, new pistons and rings new, all new gaskets, polished intake runners, rv1 cam and intake with a weber 32/36.

Please be serious and say what you really would pay for that setup..

    Huh?

It's a 22r block bored .040 over with a 20r head that has smoothed intake runners and a rv1 cam.

im gonna guess its got a fairly stock rebuilt head.... given the bottom end is nothing special other than a rebuild... taking into a consideration that its got a slightly modified intake, and a weber.. im gonna tell ya around here i would be willing to pay around 700 bucks for that setup. 0 miles on motor. and this is just my opinion...

    hope someone else chimes in....

If I hear it run 500-700. Otherwise I wouldn't give more than 350. I spent 300 for all new pistons, bearings, an fluid pumps on my short block. 250 to machine the bores and crank. Heads are about 200 for a basic rebuild. So costs added its not much more to make your own. So offer him 350-500 bucks and see what he says.

If he says it runs but can't prove it bring a spare battery, a distributor, coil and igniter. You can wire it up and gravity feed the carb. Ratchet strap it to some blocks of wood to hold it down. We have started motors like that before.

    Wow, reality check.

I sold one last summer for $1400.. Guess I ripped him off!

    Thanks for the honesty though!

It's not a ripoff. Some people wanna pay for a good motor and not build one. I just have a hard time justifying high prices when they are fairly cheap to build if you do it right. Let us know if you get the hybrid. And you will have to put a 78-back oil pan on if its from a 79-95. Different sump location.

kinda figured everyone else's market is a lil different. i paid about 180 for a head rebuild here in sd, 200 for block machining, and engnbldr wants i think a few hundred for a master rebuild kit (depending on what you get). so take that into consideration.

as these guys said, 500 is a reasonable offer.

That money was what funded my current truck. It was a terrible time for me, as my '80 got stolen then I sold my motor and bought a truck, then got rear ended less then 2 days later. Couldn't drive it for 2 month while dealing with insurance then fixing my rear brakes because the shoes cracked and were locking up..

Back on topic, I'm trying to buy it for $600.. If I get it I will try to sell it, if it doesn't sell I will be throwin it in mine:D

Btw, it's 79frankenyotas motor. I've been building it for a while now, and offered to buy it today..

Wikipedia has gear ratio charts for the various W trannys. I don't know much about the 59.

I saw the gear ratios. Im mainly worried about if it will bolt up to an R series motor, or if it doesnt is there an easy way like swapping bell housings to make it fit?
